In case you don’t already receive the e-mail newsletter from Thea, one of the San Diego coordinators of NaNoWriMo, here’s the latest message, which includes information about an event happening Sunday, October 11.
October 11 – Plotting Workshop
For those of you who want to do some planning for your novel, we’re holding a Plotting Workshop tomorrow (Sunday, October 11) from 1pm to 3pm at The Living Room (5900 El Cajon Blvd). Please RSVP to let us know that you’re coming.
October 15 – NaNoWriMo Lecture
There will be a free lecture on how to succeed at NaNoWriMo hosted by San Diego Writers, Ink at the La Mesa Library on Thursday, October 15 at 6pm.
October 25 – Kick-off Picnic Party
Our first kick-off is on Sunday, October 25, 2 PM at Balboa Park. We’ll be having a picnic kick-off this year so bring your own lunch (potluck is not required, but if you want to bring something for everyone, you can) and picnic blanket! We’re meeting in the grassy area next to the playground so watch this thread for more info on how to find us. Please RSVP if you’re planning on coming.
October 31 – Midnight Kick-off and Write-in
Our midnight kick-off starts on Friday, October 31, 11 PM at Studio Diner. It’s located at 4701 Ruffin Road, San Diego, CA and we’ll be meeting in the back room. Bring your favorite writing utensil ’cause we’ll be starting our novels at the stroke of midnight! RSVP here.
As always, check our events calendar on the regional forum for a complete list of write-ins and other NaNoWriMo events in San Diego.
Like last year, we’re doing our rotating write-ins every Sunday afternoon at iconic locations around the city, starting with Cabrillo National Monument on November 1.
I will be doing the Great Train Escape this year, so if you’re up for a day long write-in while traveling to San Francisco, let me know! It will be on November 13 this year and the tentative schedule is located here. I will post more info in the forums later this month once the details are finalized.
We are also doing our first ever “Meet-in-the-Middle” on November 21. This is an inter-regional write-in between the San Diego and North San Diego County regions. Come and meet some of our neighboring wrimos!
If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact me (syaffolee) or Nicole (wingedcreature) via NaNoMail. Happy planning and I hope to see some of you at these events!
